Romanian priests’ choir wins gold medal at international competition in Slovenia

The Ștefan Nosievici Priests’ Choir from the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuți earned a Gold Medal in Sacred Choral Music at a competition in Portorož, Slovenia. Founded in 2021, the choir has previously won prizes and represents its archdiocese abroad.

The “Ștefan Nosievici” Priests’ Choir of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuți won the Gold Medal in the Sacred Choral Music category on Monday at a choral competition in Portorož , Slovenia.

The result crowns the ensemble’s work and marks another appearance on the international music scene.

Father Ionel-Doru Budeanu, Dean of Suceava and choir coordinator, said the award recognised the entire ensemble’s work and its desire to make the beauty of sacred music better known.

“We are delighted and grateful for this Gold Medal, which crowns the hard work and dedication of the members of the Ștefan Nosievici Priests’ Choir. We had the joy of representing the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuți and of sharing, through song, the beauty and depth of sacred choral music,” Father Ionel-Doru Budeanu told local media .

The choir’s coordinator also thanked everyone who supported the ensemble’s participation in the international competition.

The “Ștefan Nosievici” Priests’ Choir was founded in 2021 at the initiative of Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and Rădăuți.
